ProALARM II

Raycap ProAlarm II is a DIN rail-type fault indicator device that notifies the user when an end-of-life Surge Protective Device (SPD) needs to be replaced. It connects to the SPD's remote contact (RC) and is mounted next to it on the same rail. When the SPD fails, it alerts the user with a loud warning signal and a red LED. The alarm can be silenced with a button; the LED remains lit until the SPD is replaced. Multiple SPDs can be connected to a single ProAlarm II.

Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) fail silently. The system continues to operate, with no indication — but protection is gone. In the next lightning strike or surge, damage directly reaches the equipment. Therefore, detecting the failure status of the SPD is as critical as the protection itself.

ProAlarm II fills this gap. The device is quickly and easily mounted on the same DIN rail, right next to the SPD, by connecting the SPD's remote signaling contact (RC) to the alarm unit. No separate panel, additional power line, or complex wiring is required.

When an SPD fails, the user is notified in two different ways:

  • Loud beep — 70 dB sound power level
  • Red LED — visual indicator

The alarm can be silenced with the button on the device. However, the LED remains lit — until the SPD is actually replaced. This design choice is important: once acknowledged, the audible warning does not disturb, but the resolution of the fault is not forgotten.

Multiple SPDs can be connected to a single ProAlarm II — all SPDs in the panel can be aggregated onto one alarm unit. The maximum connection distance is 50 m.

The device operates at a rated voltage of 110–230 V AC, supporting a frequency range of 50–60 Hz. It draws 0 mA current in normal operation; it consumes 10–21 mA only when alarming. It is only 1 TE / 18 mm wide and weighs 53 g.

The product complies with IEC 61010-1:2010+A1:2016 and EN 61010-1:2010+A1:2019 standards; it is RoHS and CE certified.
