INGESCO PDC.E — Electronic ESE Air Terminal
Electronic early streamer emission (ESE) air terminal. With a capacitive circuit and atmospheric accelerator, it activates only when there is a real lightning risk. AISI 316L stainless steel casing, 200 kA current capacity, 35–113 m protection radius. Four models, 5-year warranty.
INGESCO PDC.E is an electronic early streamer emission (ESE) air terminal developed for the lightning protection of structures and open areas.
As the downward leader channel from the storm cloud approaches, the electric field strength increases. The PDC.E detects this increase and accumulates energy in its capacitor. When the electric field reaches a critical level, the atmospheric accelerator discharges the accumulated energy in the form of high-voltage pulses, initiating an upward ion leader channel. This channel creates a preferential path for the discharge, diverting lightning away from the protected area and safely guiding it to the ground.
A distinguishing feature of the PDC.E is its intelligent operating principle: the early streamer emission device activates only when there is a real lightning risk. This reduces unnecessary discharges and increases the product's long-term reliability.
The product's performance is defined by the Δt value. Δt indicates the triggering advantage compared to a conventional air terminal and allows for the calculation of the protection radius according to NF C 17-102:2011, UNE 21186:2011, and NP 4426:2013 standards.
The casing is made of AISI 316L stainless steel; the insulation system is constructed with resin certified for the protection of high-voltage devices. It does not require external power.
The product is the result of R&D projects conducted with the LABELEC Electrotechnical Laboratory and has undergone extensive testing, including performance tests under artificial electric fields.
