ACData Signal Protection

Raycap ACData® signal and data protection products are a family of SPDs developed for the protection of POTS (analog telephone), T1/E1 (DS-1), Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), Power over Ethernet (PoE), and DS-0 lines. Available in various sizes, types, configurations, and service voltage options. The innovative modular design allows for custom protection configurations; hardwired or pluggable connection options are available. Most products comply with IEC 61643-11, UL 1449 5th Edition, and other UL safety standards.

The ACData signal protection family is designed for cost-effective protection of data and signal lines in telecommunication and light industrial applications. Their compact size and mounting options make the products suitable for residential and light industrial applications.

The family's distinguishing approach is the selection of different suppression technologies based on the application:

  • SAD (Silicon Avalanche Diode) — fast response, low clamping voltage
  • GDT (Gas Discharge Tube) — high energy handling capability
  • TBU (Transient Blocking Unit) — current-limiting solid-state protection, minimizes capacitive load on high-speed lines like GigE
  • MOV (Varistor) — for PoE power lines

These elements are used in combination (SAD+GDT, GDT+TBU, SAD+MOV+GDT) — thus achieving both sufficient energy capacity and sufficiently low pass-through voltage for each line type. Protection is provided in tip-ring, tip-ground, and ring-ground directions.

Product Families:

Multiport Max 6Modular multi-port solution. 6 ports with independent removable, replaceable, and upgradeable modules. Replaceable module types: T1/E1, DS-3, 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, 1000 Base-T GigE, PoE. Dual lug grounding and NEMA 3R outdoor cabinet options are available. The T1/E1 module is UL 497B 5th Edition Listed.

Multiport Max 3 — 3-port version; offers shielded connector option.

Singleport Series A — Single-port, RJ45 or hardwired connection. Surge capacity up to 10 kA. Models for DS-0, T1/E1, PSTN, and high-voltage data lines.

Singleport Series B — Single-port, Ethernet and PoE focused. 10/100 Base-T, 10/100/1000 Base-T (with shielded option), PoE IEEE 802.3af Mode B, and GigE PoE IEEE 802.3at models.

M66 Series — Push-down protectors fitting all M66 type blocks. For T1, data, and modem lines. SAD technology, optional tinned ground strip.

TJ1010B — Single-port protector.

All housings are UL 94-V0 flame-retardant ABS plastic. Products are tested in internationally accredited independent laboratories according to the latest IEC and UL safety and performance standards.
