15 May 2018Ministry of Culture Closed Circuit IP CCTV Burglar Alarm and Security Systems Lightning Protection Specification. As we always state, as a result of a possible lightning impulse, many systems are disabled and suffer serious damage. The Ministry of Culture attaches importance to the use of LV Surge Arresters (SPDs) in closed circuit IP, CCTV, BURGLAR ALARM, and SECURITY Systems. 2.7. LIGHTNING PROTECTION EQUIPMENT INDUSTRIAL, POE SUPPORTED DATA AND 220 V AC/48V DC SUPPLY WEAK CURRENT PROTECTION SURGE ARRESTERS
KTB.ELK-016.1: Data Protection Surge Arrester, with POE Input: To protect external IP cameras from high voltage occurring as a result of Lightning Strikes, or voltages formed from the magnetic field created by them, a surge arrester shall be placed at the camera Network Data inputs for each camera and at the Supply lines and data outputs of Edge Switches located in Panels. The weak current surge arrester to be used to protect against lightning and high voltages will be able to work without problems between minimum -40 / +70 degrees outdoor temperature values. POE protected Data Surge Arresters shall have a line-earth voltage protection level below 700 Volts at nominal discharge. Each pair must be under protection and the total line-earth discharge current must be 10kA.
KTB.ELK-016.2: Device 220 V AC Supply Input Protection Surge Arrester: For 220 V AC Supply Surge Arresters, the maximum permissible operating voltage is minimum 275 V AC, Nominal lightning protection current is minimum 20kA between neutral-earth, and maximum lightning protection current is minimum 40kA between neutral-earth.
KTB.ELK-016.3: Device 48V DC Supply Input Protection Surge Arrester: For 48 V DC Supply Surge Arresters, the maximum permissible operating voltage is minimum 60 V DC, Nominal lightning protection current is minimum 1 kA. The phase-neutral voltage protection level should be below 350V.
