Lightning Protection Recommendations for Facilities Located at 2000 m Altitude and Above
12 September 2021Within the scope of lightning protection systems, the IEC 62305 standard, which is the accepted standard in our country and throughout Europe, foresees the protection of facilities by ensuring the separation distance s with passive air terminals and by using methods such as the rolling sphere method, protection angle method, mesh method, and catenary wire method. Designs in which safety is maximized with systems using insulated air terminals and insulated down conductors eliminate the risks of fire, physical damage, human injury, equipment damage, and explosion that may be caused by lightning strikes, and ensure the safe protection of facilities and structures against lightning strikes.
As Yılkomer, we have taken part in many professional applications within the scope of the IEC 62305 standard that we have adopted as a basis. In our projects, which you can access via the sample projects button, our passive insulated systems stand out. In this publication, we wanted to present sample application visuals received from our global partners. Especially throughout Europe, many facilities are protected with passive systems in accordance with the IEC 62305 Lightning Protection standard.
By contacting us as Yılkomer, you can receive lightning protection design, project planning, implementation, and reporting services in accordance with the IEC 62305 lightning protection standard.
