Analog Systems – Narrow Line
The Raycap RayDat Narrow Line analog signal protection series is a modular SPD family that provides maximum density within the panel with its ultra-compact body, only 6.2 mm wide. It protects analog signal lines of temperature, pressure, level, and position sensors; its internal structure also allows it to protect high-frequency signals up to 120 MHz. Hot swapping and quick-connect terminals offer uninterrupted maintenance and fast installation.
Analog signals are used in industrial facilities for detection and measurement in control systems. Temperature, pressure, level, and position sensors generate analog signals carrying continuous, precise information about measured physical parameters. These signal lines often span long distances, making them vulnerable to lightning-induced overvoltages.
The RayDat Narrow Line series is a family of ultra-narrow format SPDs developed for the protection of these lines. The most distinctive feature of the series is its 6.2 mm width — half the size of classic 12 mm modules. In marshalling panels with hundreds of measurement points, this translates directly into an advantage in terms of panel count and installation cost.
The devices feature a multi-stage hybrid protection structure: coarse protection is provided by a gas discharge tube (GDT), and fine protection by a diode block (SAD/TVS); a series resistor (1 Ω) between them ensures energy coordination. The response time is <1 ns.
The internal configuration of the products also allows for the protection of high-frequency signals: standard models support operating frequencies up to 120 MHz. The line-to-line capacitance is typically as low as 25 pF — preserving signal integrity.
Hot swapping capability is critical: when the protection module is removed from the base, the connection lines remain active. This means an end-of-life module can be replaced without stopping the system or disconnecting wiring. The green flag / red flag indicator on the front panel instantly shows the device status. Additionally, a monitoring unit (transmitter and receiver) is available for all product variants — fault information can be transmitted to a central monitoring system.
Quick-connect terminals shorten field installation time. Various shield-handling options are offered.
Product families:
- RayDat NSL-2 Series — Standard single pair protection. 5, 12, 24, 48 V DC. Up to 120 MHz.
- RayDat NSL-2 LF Series — Low frequency (LF) version. 5, 12, 24 V DC. 250 kHz – 1 MHz. Offers a lower protection level (Up) — for the most sensitive circuits.
- RayDat NSP-2 Series — High voltage version. 24 and 110 V DC. Up to 120 MHz.
- RayDat NSP-2 LF Series — Low frequency + high current option. 24 V and 24/0 V DC (12 A load current in the 24/0 model).
Products comply with IEC/EN 61643-21 and UL 497B 4th Edition standards. Classification: D1 / C1 / C2 / C3. 35 mm DIN rail mounted.

The RayDat Narrow Line analog series is used for the protection of sensor and measurement lines:
