Strikesorb DC Series

Strikesorb 30 2CHV

Raycap Strikesorb® 30 2CHV is a dual-module surge protection device combining two protection modes in a single compact housing. The 30-A-2CHV is offered for AC power protection, while the 30-V1-2CHV is for DC power protection. Specifically designed for telecommunication facilities, its fuseless and maintenance-free structure eliminates the risk of explosion and fire.

Strikesorb 30 2CHV is a dual Strikesorb module combining two protection modes in a single package. This design provides significant panel space savings, eliminating the need for separate module installation and wiring — a critical advantage, especially in space-constrained telecom cabinets.

The product is available in two versions:

  • Strikesorb 30-A-2CHV — AC power protection. Particularly suitable for telecommunication facilities operating with 120 V AC. It can provide protection between L-PE and N-PE or between L-N and N-PE.
  • Strikesorb 30-V1-2CHV — DC power protection. Particularly suitable for telecommunication facilities operating with -48 V DC. It provides -48V → RTN and RTN → GND protection within a single package.

In both versions, each protection mode contains a single-piece, heavy-duty distribution-grade MOV (metal oxide varistor) disk. The disk is mounted under pressure within an environmentally sealed aluminum housing. This design ensures very low internal contact resistance, excellent thermal management, and homogeneous distribution of surge current across the entire surface of the protection element. The result is very low let-through voltage combined with exceptionally high energy absorption capacity.

Both models are Class I SPDs according to IEC 61643-11 and withstand direct lightning current up to 5 kA (10/350 µs). They do not contain a spark gap or switching element — which translates to an unusually low protection level for a Class I product.

The Strikesorb design does not use internal fuses or thermal disconnectors. In conventional surge protectors, safety relies on these mechanisms, and their failure during a fault can lead to fire. Strikesorb minimizes aging effects and completely eliminates the risk of catastrophic failure, explosion, or fire. Designed to withstand repetitive surges, it operates maintenance-free and cost-effectively in harsh environments. It comes with a 10-year limited lifetime warranty.
