PCB Socket T1 and T2 PV
Raycap PCB Socket T1 and T2 PV are single-pole SPD socket bases mounted by direct soldering onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). They provide integrated surge protection for string boxes and inverter boards in photovoltaic systems up to 750 V DC (UCPV).
The Raycap PCB Socket series is a socket base solution developed for integrating surge protection directly onto a device's electronic board. By soldering the SPD directly onto the PCB instead of positioning it as a separate DIN rail module, it reduces both installation costs and panel space requirements.
The solution is designed for use with PV modules having a maximum continuous operating voltage (UCPV) of up to 750 V DC. Two options are available:
- PCB Socket T1 PV — Class I+II / Type 1+2: for installations at risk of direct lightning strikes, capable of carrying a partial lightning current. Iimp 6.25 kA (10/350 µs), ITotal 12.5 kA.
- PCB Socket T2 PV — Class II / Type 2: protection against induced and switching surges. In 20 kA, Imax 40 kA (8/20 µs).
Both versions are available with the -R (with remote signaling contact) option, allowing the module's fault status to be transmitted to a SCADA or monitoring system. The green / not-green fault indicator on the front simplifies on-site inspection, and the module locking mechanism prevents the protection module from dislodging in vibrating conditions.
The products comply with IEC 61643-31:2018, EN 61643-31:2019, and UL 1449 5th Edition standards, targeting both European and US markets. The housing material is UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant thermoplastic.
