Cross-Connector L-55
The Gromtor L-55 cross-connector is used for cross (X) and T-type connections of Ø8–10 mm round conductors. 55 × 55 mm body, four M8 × 25 bolts. Available in hot-dip galvanized steel, V2A and V4A stainless steel, and copper options.
In lightning protection systems, conductors rarely run uninterrupted. The air termination network on the roof intersects, down conductors connect to the air termination conductor, and the earthing line joins around the structure. Each of these connection points is where the system's electrical continuity is maintained — or lost.
The cross-connector joins two round conductors perpendicularly (cross) or in a T-shape. The two-part body is tightened with four bolts, bedding the conductors into the channel; this ensures the conductor is held securely with a wide contact surface and mechanically, without crushing it.
With its 55 × 55 mm body, the L-55 meets most standard roof and earthing applications. Four M8 × 25 bolts ensure the connection does not open against electrodynamic forces generated during impulse current.
The product is manufactured in accordance with IEC 62561 (lightning protection system components) and meets the system requirements under IEC 62305. This means the connection has been tested not only mechanically but also for impulse current carrying capacity.
