Cross Connection Clamp L-55 — With Intermediate Plate

The Gromtor L-55 cross clamp with intermediate plate is used for cross and T-type connections of Ø8–10 mm round conductors. The intermediate plate between the bodies prevents direct contact between the two crossing conductors.

In a standard cross clamp, two conductors are tightened to make direct contact between the plates. This is the desired condition in most applications, as direct contact ensures a low-resistance connection.

However, in some cases, the two conductors should not make direct contact. The intermediate plate model is designed for this need: an additional plate placed between the conductors separates the contact surfaces and allows current to pass through the plate.

There are two typical reasons for this design. The first is the connection of conductors of different materials; direct contact between dissimilar metals initiates galvanic corrosion in humid environments, and the intermediate plate eliminates this contact. The second is the balanced distribution of pressure when conductor diameters differ.

The body size, bolt pattern, and material options are the same as the standard L-55: 55 × 55 mm, four M8 × 25 bolts. The product complies with IEC 62561 and meets IEC 62305 system requirements.
