ACData DC SPDs
The Raycap ACData® DC series offers 24 V and 48 V DC surge protection solutions for telecommunications and light industrial applications. It provides very low let-through voltage with Silicon Avalanche Diode (SAD) suppression technology, and features a feed-through design with no series impedance and an LED indicator for easy installation. It consists of DCBH, DCBP, DCLT, and DDC sub-series.
The ACData DC series is a low-cost, compact family of surge protective devices developed for the protection of low-voltage DC power and signal circuits. With a continuous operating voltage up to 60 V DC, it addresses 24 V and 48 V systems.
The series' technical distinguishing feature is Silicon Avalanche Diode (SAD) suppression technology. SAD offers significantly lower let-through voltage compared to varistor or gas discharge tube-based solutions—a critical advantage for sensitive electronics. Additionally, the solid-state clamping design eliminates the impulse reset current issue encountered in traditional "crowbar" type devices; meaning the device does not lock the line after an impulse, and system power supply is not interrupted.
The feed-through design contains no series impedance—the device does not add a series resistor or inductor to the line, thus not limiting supply current or degrading signal integrity. An LED indicator provides visual verification of correct polarity and proper installation, reducing error margins in field installations. Screw terminal blocks simplify mounting.
Sub-series:
- DCBH Series (DCBH24 / DCBH48)—20 kA (8/20 µs) impulse capacity per mode, 20 A continuous current. Protects fiber-to-copper conversion electronics in network interface devices. -40 °C … +80 °C.
- DCLT Series (DCLT-24 / DCLT-48)—20 kA (8/20 µs) per mode, up to 20 A DC power and signal circuits. High-capacity protection for DC distributed antenna systems (DAS). -40 °C … +65 °C.
- DCBP Series (DCBP-24-20 / DCBP-48-10)—Version with integrated DC circuit breaker (20 A or 10 A). Includes mounting L-bracket, AAV cabinet terminal block, and mounting hardware.
- DDC Series (DDC024 / DDC048)—Compact model with bipolar SAD technology and bullet-type DC distribution interface. Local and remote monitoring capability. Clamping response time < 5 ns, let-through voltage 50 V / 100 V.
All enclosures are UL 94V-0 flame-retardant ABS plastic (Type 1, indoor).
