The change in our country’s lightning characteristics and the excessive increase in the number of stormy days bring strong lightning strikes as well. In recent weeks, a lightning strike on a hotel in Antalya, which is classified as RISK 1 in terms of lightning characteristics, created a serious danger. In the structure where protection was provided with an air termination, the lightning that struck the air termination descended without insulation and, since LV Surge Arrester systems were not used, caused damage to devices, especially the sound system.
