7 December 2025The IMD 100 insulation monitoring device is used to safely monitor and protect the system in connections between solar power plants and electrical grids, in facilities such as hospitals where a high level of safety is required, and in IT systems.
It continuously monitors insulation resistance and provides a safe working environment by triggering relays in the event of a fault. Continuous warnings are given to the user via the alarms on the device.
The IMD 100 solar insulation monitoring relay enables the immediate disconnection of system power thanks to alarm information and dry contact output. The IMD 100, which can operate up to 1000 V AC systems, is suitable for voltage levels of 800 V and above required in solar power plant systems.
The IMD 100 can be remotely tested and reset. Possible issues that may occur at the plant can be quickly brought under control thanks to the test and reset buttons on the device.
The product is suitable for single-phase and three-phase use. It can operate in systems without a neutral. The use of this product is mandatory in solar power plants. However, it is strongly recommended to use Raycap AG Surge Protection systems together with the IMD 100.
In addition to insulation faults, sudden voltage spikes occurring in the grid can also cause serious damage to the system. These nanosecond-level surges can lead to the shutdown of the entire system.
