According to the information obtained, the fire started as a result of a lightning strike. The fire quickly surrounded the factory, which was learned to contain a large amount of chemical substances inside.
So How Should Lightning Protection Be Realized According to IEC 62305?
As the Lightning Protection Center , regarding lightning protection systems, based on the IEC 62305 standard, we create designs by making different designs according to system features, structural features, and risk situations, primarily basing on the rolling sphere method, and we implement the designs we make. We have started 3D Lightning protection system designs with our new drawing program. Design according to structural characteristics resulting from risk analysis is extremely important. In Exproof environments, flammable explosive facilities, metal construction structures, mass housing, production facilities, and facilities with high human density, we have to turn to different applications by using different products and making different designs. Within the scope of standard and engineering studies, we cannot evaluate a tank with an explosion risk and a risk-free reinforced concrete building in the same category. Therefore, showing the facility risk on the program with the Rolling Sphere method, which we basically apply, and configuring using exproof and protection certified products is the most correct solution.
