ProTec T1 PV Box Series
The Raycap ProTec T1 PV Box is a pre-assembled, ready-to-use connection box that protects the solar energy investment against overvoltages coming from the DC side. It is offered with 1100 V and 1500 V DC options, in a UV-resistant enclosure rated up to IP 67, for single and dual MPP tracker applications.
The ProTec T1 PV Box series is a boxed DC protection solution in which the Class I+II / Type 1+2 surge arrester is delivered factory-assembled. It requires no separate panel, rail, terminal block, or wiring work; it is wall-mounted right next to the inverter and commissioned directly. In this respect, it significantly shortens on-site installation time, especially in rooftop PV and commercial installations.
Type 1 protection is the class that can carry a portion of the direct lightning current. If the facility has an external lightning protection system (air terminal) or if there is a risk of direct strike, this is the protection class that must be used on the DC side. The device has 6.25 kA Iimp (10/350 µs) and 12.5 kA ITotal ratings; the protection level is Up < 4.4 kV in the 1100 V version and Up < 5.2 kV in the 1500 V version. The response time is < 25 ns.
On the connection side, the series' most practical feature is tool-free (push-in) terminals and MC4 connector options; strings are connected by plugging in directly. The protection rating is IP 67 in the cable gland version and IP 65 in the rubber grommet version. Thanks to the UV-resistant semi-transparent polycarbonate cover, the green flag indicator shows whether the device is intact without opening the box — it is designed for outdoor installation.
All models include a thermal disconnector: the varistor that has reached the end of its service life is safely disconnected from the circuit, eliminating fire risk in DC circuits. The products comply with EN 61643-31:2019 and IEC 61643-31:2018 standards.

- The -S suffix denotes the 1500 V versions, the -RG suffix denotes the rubber grommet versions
