ProTec T1-LH

The Raycap ProTec T1-LH Series is a Surge Protective Device (SPD) that offers Type 1 protection performance with the height of Type 2 devices (70 mm). It is an alternative form factor developed for installations with limited panel depth.

The Raycap ProTec LH (Low Height) series is developed for installations where cabinet space is critical and a shorter module height provides an advantage. It offers an alternative form factor with a 70 mm module height, similar to T2 product versions.

The advantage here is simple yet crucial in the field: ProTec T1-LH delivers full Type 1 SPD performance while occupying the same space as a Type 2 device in the panel. Standard Type 1 devices, due to their taller housing, cannot be installed in shallow panels, compact distribution boxes, or installations with limited cover clearance. The LH series solves this problem without compromising protection class.

The device has an impulse current (Iimp) withstand capability of 12.5 kA, a continuous operating voltage (Uc) of 300 V, and a short-circuit current withstand capability of up to 50 kA. Each module features a green/red operating status indicator on its front face—this indicator is also available on N-PE modules. Optional remote contact (RC) signaling allows for remote status monitoring. Thanks to its vibration and shock resistance, it operates reliably in challenging field conditions.

  • Type 1 SPD — Type 2 (T2) height: 70 mm
  • High discharge capacity: Iimp = 12.5 kA
  • Continuous operating voltage: Uc = 300 V
  • Backup fuse: up to 160 A gG
  • Short-circuit current withstand: up to 50 kA
  • Vibration and shock resistance
  • Green/red operating status indicator on all modules (including N-PE)
  • Optional remote contact (RC) signaling
  • DIN rail mounting
  • Module configurations: 1+0, 2+0, 3+0, 4+0

ProTec T1-LH stands out in any installation with limited panel depth and height:

  • Shallow panels and distribution boxes — Enclosures where standard Type 1 devices do not fit
  • Compact building entrance panels — Residential and small commercial facilities
  • Flush-mounted and recessed panels — Architectural solutions with depth constraints
  • Machine and automation panels — Installations with limited internal cabinet volume
  • Renovation projects — Situations requiring Type 1 addition to existing panels where space is unavailable
  • Series-produced panel lines — Manufacturing where standard panel dimensions must be maintained
  • Challenging field conditions — Applications requiring vibration and shock resistance
  • Remotely monitored facilities — SCADA/BMS integration with RC option
