Corrosion Protection Tape
23 June 2017Fire and alarm systems are highly important systems for ensuring the safety of all kinds of buildings, facilities, factories, and businesses. These systems, which we may need only once during their service life but which must absolutely perform their duty in case of need, are most significantly damaged (30%-40%) by transient voltages. Therefore, we must protect your systems against both lightning and internal overvoltages.

Where is the Risk?

- Sensors
- Signal Relays
- Data/telephone lines
Fire alarm systems are generally damaged not by lightning impulses but by internal impulses occurring in our facility. Therefore, protection should be provided with internal lightning protection systems starting from the AC control panel. Also, each telephone and data line must be protected against impulses with line protectors.
RayDat SLL 4 Type 3 Surge Arrester
RayDAT SLL-4 has been developed to protect data transmission circuits or alarm circuits operating at low voltage, such as alarm and security. The surge arrester provides protection using a high-speed, bidirectional silicon layer.
- IEC / EN Category: C1 / C3 Protection mode: Transverse
- Voltages: 30V DC Frequency Range: 30MHz
- Surge Discharge Ratings: In: 250A Series Load Current: 10A
- Housing: DIN 43880 2/3 TE, DIN Rail Connection Terminals: stranded up to 4 mm2
- Housing: Modular Design Compliance: IEC / EN 61643-21
In sudden overvoltage and lightning effects, the cards in the fire panels are predominantly damaged. After the Type 1+2+3 protection to be used in the distribution panel, every loop inside the panel should be protected with Type 3 surge arrester sensitive protection. Generally, sensitive protection should be foreseen in panels operating with 48 V voltage. Protection of loops is extremely important for the protection of the entire system. Therefore, Loop Protectors with a very low Up level at the end point should be used in Fire Alarm Panels.
Fire alarm systems are very important systems for our safety and life. Therefore, ensuring their operation at all times and preventing them from being damaged ensures the continuity of our facility. At this point, it is a necessity to protect alarm systems against lightning and overvoltage impulses. You can contact Yılkomer expert engineer staff on this subject and get technical support.
