In this location containing flammable and explosive materials, lightning hazards are among the most critical issues requiring preventive measures.
The Mersin region is positioned in a highly risky zone on the lightning risk map.
Therefore, based on the risk analyses conducted at the facility, measures were taken both to protect the solar power plant (GES) and to safeguard the fuel tanks against potential surges and lightning strikes.

In our GES projects, we strictly do not recommend the use of Active Lightning Rods in flammable or explosive facilities.
Instead, the facility has been physically protected against lightning strikes using fully insulated and isolated special solutions.

Additionally, the main distribution panel, subpanels and inverters within the GES system have been secured with
SURGE ARRESTER systems.
