ProTec 60 Series
The Raycap ProTec 60 Series are Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) designed for direct installation into panels with 60 mm busbar systems. By eliminating wiring, they shorten installation time, save space within the panel, and improve the protection voltage level through shorter connections.
The Raycap ProTec 60 mm busbar series is designed for direct installation onto 60 mm busbar systems in main distribution panels. In classic setups, the surge arrester is mounted elsewhere in the panel and connected to the busbar with cables; with ProTec 60, the device sits directly on the busbar.
This has two consequences. First, regarding installation: wiring time is reduced, complexity decreases, and space and cost savings are achieved within the panel. Thanks to its pluggable design, installation is quick and simple.
Second, and technically more important: shorter connection cables improve the protection voltage level. As the surge arrester's connection cable lengthens, additional voltage is generated across the cable inductance during an impulse, increasing the voltage reaching the protected device. Direct busbar connection minimizes this loss; thus, ProTec 60 offers not only ease of installation but also better protection.
The series is compatible with TN-C, TT, and TN-S network systems. It is available with Type 1, Type 2, and integrated-fused Type 2 (T2F) plug options. The products comply with and are tested according to IEC 61643-11:2011 and EN 61643-11:2012 +A11:2018 standards.
