Braided Copper Conductor
21 May 2017Galvanized Strip 30×3.5 Grounding is an indispensable phenomenon for every facility, essential for both life and property safety. In many applications, excessive copper conductors and equipment are used in both grounding and lightning protection systems. These products, which involve a serious economic investment, increase project costs. However, there is no obligation to use copper in grounding in terms of both standards and engineering calculations.
In electrical installations, connecting non-active parts, zero conductors, and parts connected to them to the ground with the help of an electrode is called GROUNDING. The purpose of grounding is to achieve the desired ground contact resistance value by calculating the number and shape of the electrodes to be used according to the resistance value desired to be obtained in soil layers with different specific resistivities and the function of the desired grounding. Among the grounding types, foundation grounding is of great importance for the installation, and the main equipment of foundation grounding is the heavily used galvanized strip 30X3.5 conductor. The foundation earth electrode must be made in the form of a closed ring and placed in the foundations of the outer walls of the building or inside the foundation platform. In buildings with a large perimeter, the foundation earth electrode should be divided into 20×20 m meshes. It is critically important that the 30×3.5 strip selected here has a 70-micron coating and is produced in IEC norms against corrosion. For the installation to remain standing without problems for years, foundation grounding and selected products must pass through serious engineering work.

Galvanized Strip and Grounding
Grounding must be done during the construction of buildings. This process is carried out using hot-dip galvanized strips. Hot-dip galvanized grounding strips must be produced in high quality and in accordance with TS EN 62561-2 and TS EN ISO 1461 standards.
