Ensuring the S Separation Distance in Rooftop Conductor Systems

In rooftop applications such as solar power plants, factories, etc., the conduction of lightning strikes to our systems through conductive surfaces and cable systems must comply with the IEC 62305-3 Standard by maintaining the S rooftop conductor distance. This is especially important in Faraday Cage systems. For the S protection distance, special insulated line holders are available. In addition, this protects rooftop flammable materials from the burning effect of a lightning strike. The same approach should be applied to wall down-conductor systems.
