Residual Current Device (RCD)
14 April 2016Fuses play an important role in preventing damage to our systems. According to the IEC 60269-1 standard, fuses are defined as systems that interrupt the circuit when excessive current flows through it. Although AC fuses are commonly known and used, DC fuses are not sufficiently recognized. Moreover, in many applications AC fuses are used instead of DC fuses. In DC applications, DC fuses must definitely be preferred to protect the system.

The characteristics of AC and DC fuses are different. Therefore, they cannot be used interchangeably in applications.
DC Fuse Selection in Solar Systems
DC fuses designed for photovoltaic systems are manufactured to meet the specific requirements of these systems. These fuses protect modules and conductors against overcurrent. When using DC fuses in your system, they must be selected according to appropriate voltage values. Standard circuit breakers cannot properly interrupt the circuit at the correct point in photovoltaic systems.
Required Features of DC Fuses
