1 April 2022Low Voltage Surge Protection Device (SPD) systems place great importance on the Uc operating voltage within application criteria. After the product class, the second most critical value to consider during product selection is the Uc operating voltage. The Uc value, which means continuous operating voltage, is generally used up to a maximum of 440 V for AC systems. However, in many critical facilities, especially in power plants, the AC continuous operating voltage can reach up to 1000 V. In recent months, in solar power plants implemented in your country, the AC voltage value between phase and earth has reached approximately 800 V. While the use of 1000 V–1500 V LV SPDs is common for DC products, it was quite difficult to find products that provide protection while operating at 800 V–1000 V AC.
