The production facility of APEL TUTKAL, one of Turkey’s major adhesive brands exporting to many countries worldwide, was damaged last month due to a lightning strike that hit a nearby location. In particular, the automation systems, PLC units, and field sensors were affected, causing production interruptions and operational difficulties.
Following a two-day detailed inspection and analysis by the expert team of the Lightning Protection Center, all system components were secured against lightning and transient surge impulses.
To ensure that the damage, especially to the fire alarm system and automation cabinets, does not recur, sensitive protection modules were installed at the correct points.
