In accordance with the request of the Ministry of Labor, the protection of the tanks against lightning and surge events was carried out in compliance with IEC 62305 by the Lightning Protection Center.
The insulated Lightning Air Terminal system was connected to the grounding network using an insulated down conductor and spark-gap devices. The tanks were protected using both the rolling sphere and catenary wire methods, and EMO-approved engineering reports were delivered to Bayer.
