Pharmaceutical production facilities operate 24/7, and automation, HVAC, laboratory, and many other sensitive systems must function flawlessly. A sudden surge impulse can disable these systems, and any damage to such highly sensitive equipment may negatively affect all production processes.
The Lightning Protection Center has secured the systems of the Tüm Ekip Pharmaceutical Factory—an institution adding value to humanity—against lightning and transient surge impulses within the scope of IEC 62305 standards. Automation systems and laboratory devices were protected with LV surge protection systems, and to reduce fire risks, a passive air terminal system was designed according to the rolling sphere method.
With grounding measurements and equipotential assessments performed throughout the facility, risks can now be prevented before fault currents occur.
