Istanbul’s landmark project, Skyland, chose Yılkomer for the design and implementation of its Lightning Protection System.
Following the risk analysis and system design, the correct products for Skyland — which will be among Istanbul’s tallest structures — were selected by Yılkomer engineers to ensure protection against lightning and surge events. In this massive project rising above the TEM highway next to the Telekom Arena, ensuring the safety of life and property was of utmost importance. Therefore, the AG surge protection system design and the external lightning protection system had to be implemented in full accordance with the IEC 62305 standard.
The investor and the electrical contracting company, fully aware of this requirement, made the right decisions and enabled the protection measures to be implemented under Risk Level 1.
