Last week, following a surge directed at the residential complex, all electronic devices in the homes of Ataşehir 3000 A Residence residents were rendered inoperative. During the inspection requested by the residents, it was discovered that the IEC 62305 compliant active lightning rod down-conductor system was positioned too close to the building grounding, that no equipotential bonding system existed, and that AG surge protection was absent both at the main building entry panel and at the apartment entry panels. As a result, the surge caused severe damage, which the insurance company did not cover.
To prevent this from happening again, the residents requested that an AG surge protection system suitable for the facility’s structure be selected and implemented by our team.
After detailed measurements and assessments, a staged protection approach was applied, securing both individual apartments and common areas. Our engineers applied their full expertise to ensure that the residents of the 3000 A Residence will be protected against lightning and power surges going forward.
