The lightning protection work of Galatasaray’s Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Nef Stadium, located in Istanbul Seyrantepe, was completed by Yılkomer in December 2021. The protection system was designed in accordance with IEC 62305 standards using passive air terminals and insulated systems, with products from our expert partners such as Gromtor Insulated Air Terminals and Down Conductors, as well as Raycap Spark Gap Solutions.
In addition to the stadium, the rooftop solar power plant—which is one of the highest-capacity solar installations built on a stadium roof—was also protected by Yılkomer. After securing Fenerbahçe Sports Club’s stadium, protecting Galatasaray Sports Club’s stadium on the opposite side of Istanbul provides us with additional motivation in our work.
