Raycap introduced ProBloc B 1000 DC, a new overvoltage protection solution for DC applications. With this new solution, a large number of DC charging stations can be safely protected with this product. Rectifiers and converters aim to operate with as little loss as possible. Unlike AC voltage, DC voltage has no zero crossing, therefore the resulting electric arcs cannot be extinguished automatically. As a result, fires can easily start.<\/p>\n

With the new ProBloc B 1000 DC (Raycap, UL Type 2 CA certified), we offer a future-proof product for a wide range of DC sources. Its key features include a compact design and a unique patented disconnecting device with a rotating mechanism capable of safely extinguishing switching arcs. Thanks to its high self-extinguishing capability, a possible short-circuit current of 50 kA can be disconnected, as in storage systems.<\/p>\n

Due to the combination of Type 1 and Type 2 arresters, our new surge arrester series can be used for lightning or overvoltage protection in electric vehicle charging stations and energy storage system applications.<\/p>\n

In addition, ProBloc B 1000 DC provides continuous operating voltage up to 1000 V. Raycap recommends using an arrester without leakage current as a way to ensure that insulation monitoring is not disrupted. The new product also prevents leakage current.<\/p>\n

The protection level Up < 2.3 kV also ensures the protection of a charging electric vehicle. Vehicles with such drives require a nominal voltage of 2.5 kV.
