Datalogger systems are a crucial part of automation and SCADA<\/span> systems. Dataloggers<\/em><\/strong> collect pre-determined parameters in a system (humidity, temperature, current, water level, etc.) and record them at specific time intervals. In short, a data logger can be called a data recording device. Because a data logger is such a critical system, it is easily affected and can be disabled by lightning and internal overvoltage surges due to its electronic structure. If a data logger is disabled, both accurate access to measurements is lost, and the expensive data logger becomes completely non-functional.<\/p>\n

Protection Against Sudden Overvoltage Surges<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

An important factor in protecting a data logger from sudden overvoltage surges is staged protection. Since data loggers are sensitive devices, Class D surge protectors<\/em><\/strong> should be used to bring the Up level to the desired value. Using Class B surge protectors in the main panel and Class C surge protectors<\/strong><\/a> in the sub-panel alone will not sufficiently protect the data logger. Additionally, POE protection should be added in front of the data logger to reduce incoming surges to the desired level and ensure full protection.<\/p>\n
