The PROTEC C 160\/320 TYPE 2 40kA 3P+N 50A047 Raycap TYPE 2 SPD system is designed to protect your system against sudden overvoltage surges, switching impulses, harmonics, grid peaks, and coupling surges by activating within 25 nanoseconds. With a 40 kiloampere maximum peak discharge capacity and Safetec technology modules, it provides defense against an unlimited number of surges within its capacity. Our PROTEC C 50A047 TYPE 2 SPD, consisting of a hybrid technology of metal oxide varistors and gas discharge tubes, delivers effective protection from the smallest impulses to the most powerful surges. Tested on the 8\/20 ms waveform and focused on protection against long-duration transient overvoltage surges occurring on this curve, the Raycap PROTEC C series is particularly expert in long-term protection thanks to its thermal protection circuit.<\/p>\n

The cartridge of the Raycap PROTEC C 160\/320 Series features green and red status indicators. When the cartridge is damaged after exposure to a maximum surge, the indicator changes from green to red. You can replace this cartridge during physical inspections. If on-site access is not possible, the remote signaling contact output allows you to monitor the device remotely and determine the need for replacement. In addition, the Raycap PROTEC C 160\/320 TYPE 2 Class C SPD can operate in integration with PROLEC BASIC in-panel surge counters, enabling easy notification of replacement requirements.<\/p>\n

The Raycap PROTEC C series can be safely used in TT and TN-S grounding systems. The SPD, integrated in parallel to the system, must be connected using a cable with a minimum cross-section of 16 mm\u00b2. Cable lengths are very important during the installation of the PROTEC C TYPE 2 40kA series and should be kept as short as possible. Remember that cable length creates voltage drop, which affects the desired Up value. The Protec C series has an Up value below 1.5 kV. The product operates within a temperature range of -40\u00b0C to +85\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

A protective fuse may be used upstream solely to allow intervention on the SPD. In standard applications, a 63 A fuse is preferred, and it must always be rated lower than the main fuse.<\/p>\n
