Surges coming through long power and data lines can damage all our systems and electrical equipment. We prevent lightning surges entering our facility via power distribution panels using B+C class LV surge arresters<\/strong><\/a><\/em><\/span>. However, a critical point that must not be overlooked is the protection of telecom and ADSL lines, which act as a second entry point for surges from the external environment. Telecom lines run throughout the country, and all surges\u2014especially lightning strikes\u2014can reach our facilities through them due to differences in specific resistances.<\/p>\n

To prevent these surges, TELECOM LINE PROTECTION SURGE ARRESTERS must be integrated at facility entries. Surges spreading through server rooms, data centers, and modems pose a significant risk. While using B+C class LV surge arrester systems on power lines, it is strongly recommended to use D category gas- and spark-gap-based surge arresters (10-module and single Krone types) on data lines.<\/p>\n

Field surveys indicate that the 10-module Krone protection system, which must not be overlooked, protects facilities against surges from the external environment. However, product selection and proper installation are extremely important. Krone-type LV surge arresters installed directly on entry lines must be connected to a grounding conductor, and its integration with the equipotential bonding system should be checked and ensured.<\/p>\n
